Bite Me

For a group University project last year, we were given the brief to come up with a product which we could sell and/or promote in an exhibition. We decided to create a student friendly cookbook, with quick and easy recipes, as well as a crate packed with kitchen essentials which they could win in a raffle.

We really wanted to have an organic and recycled look to the whole product, and I think we achieved this goal by using browns and greens for the colour scheme, cardboard and recycled a large wooden crate, which held the kitchen essentials we gave away in a raffle, by sanding it down & spray painting the 'Bite Me' logo on. I believe it gave the overall project a rustic feel. We also sold cakes at the pop-up shop, which were out of the cook book.

I also really liked the name & slogan - Bite Me, you know you want to - as I thought it give a very light hearted and comedic feel to the project, to make cooking a less daunting task, as some student may not have cooked anything by themselves before.

Overall the exhibition went really great! We sold a lot of cake (which was really yummy!), a lot of entries for the raffle, and we received so many compliments on the work. We also had Bite Me stickers made to stick around the university and give to everyone who paid.

Let me know what you think? I would love to hear your opinions.

Lauren
